I love to teach. It’s my spiritual gift and my educational background. I taught one year of science (first job, way over my head),
four years of art history and appreciation (loved it), twelve years of youth discipleship (my passion), and twenty-two years
of life instruction to my two sons (some of it didn’t stick).
I don’t teach now but I still have the need to stand on a soapbox. So, I teach through stories – romance novels.
(Which, by the way, I haven’t read since my friend Judy and I OD’ed on Harlequins thirty years ago.)
My passion as a youth teacher was hammering the message that choices have consequences. In the heart/soul series,
characters live through, overcome, suffer from, or get a pass for their misbehavior. Just like real life, they picked their
sin but couldn’t pick their consequence.

Four sisters, all “good Christian girls”, likeable, and unique, take different paths to make life-changing decisions
then face immediate and long-term effects. In each book, you’ll get to know one sister in high school and college,
and then revisit her later in her life.
Sprinkled throughout the stories are truths ignored, bad habits repeated, lessons learned, changes applied, and faith
restored. These colorful ingredients of life are common to many of us. My familiarity with them makes me a teacher of
experience and application garnished with compassion instead of a teacher of theories and regulations peppered with judgment.

This I know: God is faithful, wise, patient, loving, and forgiving. My Family
But life – it’s unpredictable: sometimes amazing and sometimes tragic.
These nuggets are incorporated into my stories and reflect my favorite verse.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and lean not on your own understanding.
Acknowledge Him in all you do
and He will direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
